Greetings from the President
The Heart Rhythm Association Singapore (HRAS) was founded with the aim of fostering solidarity among professionals who manage patients with arrhythmia and cardiac implantable electronic devices. It lends a voice for members to take a consensus position on policies pertaining to the care of heart rhythm patients, formulate care guidelines , advise and educate – not just patients, but also the lay public, healthcare workers and fellow heart rhythm professionals.
These are achieved in part through education programs which are conducted on a regular basis in partnership with other arrhythmia societies around the world; and engaging both primary healthcare providers as well as specialists in related fields such as Cardiology and Internal Medicine.
Through regular engagement with fellow heart rhythm professionals, the HRAS strives to provide that safe space to discuss complicated cases, alternative points of view, and sharing experiences to learn and grow together.
The HRAS supports the training and education particularly of fellows from regional countries who are working towards becoming specialists within the field of cardiac electrophysiology and pacing. It also furthers the training of allied health professionals within the field and gives them opportunities to expand their sphere of influence as they share their expertise with international professionals.
As a young society, the HRAS is still actively growing and maturing as it gains experience and learns from the more established groups in the region. It is my hope that the HRAS will grow from strength to strength and be a beacon of light in the region.
